The EU has approved its first-ever defense research budget, exceeding €7bn for 2021-2027. This budget has been designed to foster an innovative and competitive industrial base to increase Europe’s military autonomy. Accordingly, the EDA has awarded the Textile Research Institute of the Valencia region in Spain (AITEX), as a consortium leader, the framework contract for the provision of services in the field of “NBC Protection Research and Technology”.
